The Masters of the Environment (MENV) Graduate Program at the ÀÏ¾ÅÆ·²è is an interdisciplinary professional degree designed to equip students with the skills and experience needed to tackle complex environmental challenges. MENV prepares students for leadership roles in the environment, energy, natural resources, and sustainability sectors, providing both academic rigor and practical experience through partnerships with external organizations.ÌýÌý
What your key responsibilities will be:Ìý
The program is seeking a dynamic self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills to help build and maintain relationships with alumni and community partners. The Career Development & Alumni Engagement Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) will provide general support to the MENV Career and Professional Development Manager and interact regularly with MENV other administrative staff. This position will assist with program administration, internal and external communications, career programming, alumni events, and external relations by interfacing with current students, alumni, external partners, and the program.ÌýÌý
´¡²ú´Ç³Ü³Ù:Ìý
MENV Career and Professional Development Manager is seeking a thoughtful, collaborative, and detail-oriented student with strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills to join the MENV team. The Career Development & Alumni Engagement GSA will assist with partner engagement, alumni communications, career programming, and planning MENV 10th Anniversary Event. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: (1) developing content for newsletters/digests, website, and social media; (2) coordinating and supporting event and outreach efforts with alumni and employer partners; (3) highlighting MENV alumni career outcomes and assisting with Inaugural Alumni Recognition Awards, and (4) creating, maintaining, and updating resources for alumni. In addition, program staff will build in opportunities for the GSA to gain transferable skills necessary for the career they intend to pursue post-graduation.ÌýÌý
Program SupportÌý
- Coordinate scheduling of and attend 10th anniversary event meetingsÌý
- Coordinate and communicate event details for current students, alumni, and partners as a representative of the MENV programÌý
Provide general office support and assist with miscellaneous projects or other departmental initiatives, as neededÌý
Ìý
Content Development & CommunicationsÌý
- Assist with branding and communication for 10th anniversary eventÌý
- Support the development of the MENV Alumni Newsletter
- Maintain alumni and employer databasesÌý
- Generate LinkedIn content to advertise events and highlight alumni achievementsÌý
- Work with marketing team to build templates and schedules for various types of alumni social media posts
- Write and share Alumni Spotlight articles (2x per month) for the MENV websiteÌýand LinkedIn
Create and manage Jobs of the Week LinkedIn posts
Ìý
OutreachÌý
- Assist with the MENV career, professional development, and capstone eventsÌýÌý
- Liaise with community partners at MENV events
- Contribute to the creation of MENV master contact databaseÌý
- Assist with the collection of alumni non-CU.edu email addresses
- Act as an ambassador of MENV program on and off campusÌý
In addition, the Career Development & Alumni Engagement GSA will be encouraged to propose a project to work on throughout the summer as time allows.Ìý
There may be some evening and weekend work.Ìý

What we require:Ìý
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or universityÌý
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Current enrollment in MENV programÌý
What you will need:Ìý
- Excellent professional writing and communication skillsÌý
- Excellent organizational and time management skillsÌý
- Strong attention to detailÌý
- Comfortable with event planning and coordination
- Comfortable with public speaking in various settings, i.e., meetings, coordinating with partners and employers, and communicating event details to all studentsÌý
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively on a teamÌý
