In an effort to reach our goals of diversity, equity and inclusion, we are heavily invested in increasing the representation of diverse students, faculty and staff in our graduate programs. And we are committed to providing rich educational opportunities that prepare our students to be the inclusive leaders of tomorrow.
Graduate Programs Initiatives
A webinar series designed for prospective graduate students. Each of the three webinars are a unique chance to hear from a panel of business partners, faculty or alumni and students about how Diversity Equity and Inclusion has become integral to business culture. After the panel, prospective students may stay to hear more about Leeds graduate programs and how our commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment is helping us build a pipeline of diverse leaders who will drive business worldwide. Our admissions advisors are also on hand to answer questions about what a graduate business education can look like for you.
At Leeds, we take gender equity seriously and are committed to empowering students to succeed. Programming to support the success of graduate students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds through: mentoring, corporate engagement activities, activities that support peer understanding of diversity and workshops.
We host and support activities in partnership with the Leeds’ Centers of Excellence including the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility. Together with CESR we offered the Environmental, Social and Governance Panel with Leeds board members and industry partners.
Student Led Initiatives
The core mission of the JEDI committee is to integrate diverse cultural narratives into the Leeds MBA experience. We lead the charge on planning impactful events for key heritage months throughout the year, including Latiné, Native American, LGBTQ+ Pride, Black History and Women's History Months. This work is closely tied to that of the Barney Ford Diversity Scholarship Fundraising Committee, which focuses on embedding equity and representation as foundational, lasting pillars of the Leeds School of Business culture. The ultimate goal across both committees is to foster an intentionally inclusive and welcoming environment for every member of our community.
Aims to build an inclusive community that supports and enables women by fostering a tight-knit network and furthering gender equity across all business industries. MBA Women in Business activities include speaker panels, networking and social events, mentoring, and overall empowerment to strengthen women in business. The club focuses on creating a safe space for both personal and professional development and is built on a foundation of trust, friendship, and unity.
The event, organized by current MBA students in support of future MBA students, brings together students and alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of our programs—all with the common goal of increasing scholarship funds for students and to improve diversity at Leeds. All proceeds help fund student scholarships, with the overall goal of building diversity into the MBA program and contributing to the strong sense of community we work hard to achieve.
Faculty and Staff Initiatives
